Texas State Bobcat
I was proud to be part of the creation of the monumental Texas State Bobcat sculpture, now resting atop the newly opened dorm as of Winter 2025. This wasn’t just a mascot—it was a symbol of pride, power, and identity for the university, and it had to feel alive. I hand-chiseled each fur indentation to give it a lifelike texture and movement, with extra care around the face to add sharp, dynamic features that capture the Bobcat’s fierce spirit. Because this piece is permanent and visible from all angles, it demanded intense structural planning—including engineering a custom internal frame to support the complex form. Every step was a blend of art and architecture, and now it stands as a lasting testament to the strength of Texas State.
